EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER'S WELCOME

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is a privilege to be the Executive Headteacher of the Gipsy Hill Federation.  Our Federation is comprised of 6 maintained primary schools in South London, catering for the needs of over 2000 young people.  All of our schools retain an individual identity so that they are empowered to serve the communities in which they are located.

As a Federation we aim to ensure that all our pupils have access to a wide range of high-quality learning experiences, enabling them to develop both academically and personally. The curriculum offered by each of our schools ensures that all pupils, regardless of background, have a firm foundation for strong academic learning. Embedded within the curriculum are enrichment activities such as trips and visits which are integral to the promotion of positive well-being for all pupils. Our individual schools would be delighted to show you how Sports, Music and the Arts can make a powerful contribution to the education of our students.

The professional development of staff at all levels is a crucially important aspect of the Federation’s work. Teachers, administration and other support staff have opportunities to work with their colleagues across different schools and learn from each other.  This means that our pupils can benefit from the very best that each of our schools have to offer. As a group of schools, we are stronger together than we are alone.

We know that a high-quality curriculum and staff expertise across the school can have a significant impact on all pupils in all years.  Pupils in our schools are able to develop talents and interests in every year group so that they can become confident and capable young people, well prepared to continue their education at secondary school.

Our schools' websites will provide you with further information. Please do take the opportunity to ask any questions that you or your children may have. On behalf of our staff, I am delighted to welcome you and your children to our schools.

Mr D. Kamya
